What we need are real leaders!

Four years of war today
one thousand four hundred and sixty days of death
three thousand two hundred and twenty Americans
two Australians
one hundred and thirty four Britons
thirteen Bulgarians
six Danes
two Dutch
two Estonians
one Fijian
one Hungarian
thirty two Italians
one Kasakh
three Latvians
nineteen Poles
two Romanians
five Salvadorans
four Slovaks
eleven Spanish
two Thai
eighteen Ukranians
and tens
perhaps hundreds
of thousands
of Iraqis
so numerous
that no one
even cares
to count
men
women
children
civilians
ALL DEAD

Here, in the Heart of the Empire
we march
politely
obediently
submissively
like cattle

we hold signs
we chant slogans
we write letters to the editor
& call our representatives

we do everything
the State sanctions
and nothing more
(& no State sanctions
any form of dissent
that truly threatens
its power)

we feel better
our consciences at ease
and tell ourselves
that we do what we can
when in reality
we only do
what they allow us to do

meanwhile
the bullets still fly
the bombs still drop
the people still die

war continues
and it will
until we learn that Protesting is simply NOT enough..we need leaders!!!

What we need are true leaders, true leaders that have the balls to stand up to George W. Bush and say

YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO DO THIS..YOU WILL STAND DOWN…YOU WILL LISTEN TO AND OBEY THE MAJORITY OF YOUR EMPLOYEERS

What we need are leaders who the courage to stand up to the right wing neo-cons and say Bin Laden must be stopped and Iraq is NOT the answer. This President has failed and he has cost this nation dearly. What we need are leaders that will enact the checks and balance that is suppose to be in place. What we need are leaders that will stop this fucking bullshit!  While we waste time, money, and lives in Iraqi Bin Laden and his network goes free.  Shrub has done nothing to even try to capture Bin Laden!

What we need is are leaders that are willing to do what is best for this nation and not what is best for their wallets!
